DICK MCVEY PART OF
WORLD'S RECORD SET IN
JACKSON
TENNESSEE
Dick McVey was one of the band members participating in a
world's record setting event held at Rockabilly Fest 2001 on Saturday June 30,
2001 at 10 am at the Jackson Fairgrounds in Jackson, Tennessee. At that
time the record for the "Most Drummers Playing A Full Set Of Drums On One
Song" was set when 52 drummers participated in accompanying Stan Perkins
and the band as he sang and played father Carl Perkins' big hit, "Blue Suede Shoes." The
band included: Stan Perkins, lead guitar and vocals, Russ Hall on
keyboards, Dick McVey on bass and some of the more notable drummers listed
